“I’ve had 68 lovers but never been in love…”
This piece opens to the audience a dialogue about sex and sexuality-- how we relate to our own and others, how we use these ideas to explore facets of intimacy, how we dialogue with one another about these themes-- and how sex and ritual relate to dance and performance. This work seeks to examine the many facets surrounding sexuality, to humanize and vocalize those deeply personal yet hilariously generalizable experiences that we call ‘sex’, and to pose some of the ever percolating questions around sex and intimacy: How do we define sex? What is intimacy? Is sex necessarily intimate? Is sexuality a performance? Is dance innately sexual? How do we talk about sex?
